Absolutely thrilled to find out DEEP WATER has made it onto the Children's Book Council of Australia 2021 Notables list. Thank you so much to the @cbcaustralia judges for including it in such fabulous company. I'm really proud DEEP WATER will be wearing a CBCA sticker! 💙
Do you love contemporary YA fiction? First love, family and friendships, coming-of-age type stories? Me too! ☺️ Stay tuned in coming weeks for some news from me in that department, because 2021 is going to be a shiny new year of stories from me. I'm working very hard behind the scenes and can't wait to share. 🤩
Happy new year from me and Luna! 🥳 Okay 2021, let's do this. 💪
Here’s a photo I took at Christmas when my family and I stayed in a lovely old cottage in the Victorian goldfields region. This was the view over the back fence, and it seems like a fitting image to share as the sun sets on the challenging year that was 2020.
Here are my Top Nine most-liked images on Instagram for 2020, and it’s a good snapshot of what’s happened for me this year in my professional career, including a new book release for DEEP WATER, announcing the film option for SMALL SPACES, and a literary awards shortlisting for which I was very proud and grateful. What it doesn’t show is everything else that was going on behind the scenes during a really difficult year for us all.
Huge thanks to Julie from @bookish.intoxication for sharing this gorgeously festive photo of Small Spaces. ❤️🎄✨
Huge thanks to my buddy and fellow Aussie YA author @annawhateley_writer for creating this super-cute festive vid for the #LoveOzYApril crew - me, Anna, @talltales_poppynwosu and @kaykerr_, who all released books back in April.
🎄 Are you buying for teens this festive season? 🎄
The SMALL SPACES feature film project has been approved for development funding by @screenaustralia! Congrats to @triptychpics on this fabulous news. I'm so excited for producers Kristian Moliere and Rebecca Green, and writer/director Shelly Lauman. 🤩
